We are creating a UDL Lesson Plan AND learning about new tools to incorporate!!


Students are assigned to get to know one Assistive Technology tool(s) in-depth, Integrate it in a UDL designed Lesson Plan, and share results with the Class.

Students, individually or in approved small groups, will:
  1. Acquire/Install a 30-day trial of selected software or download free app or subscribe to free trial.
  2. Explore software and vendor resources available
  3. Submit a BRIEF summary/table about the Tool.
  4. Identify the nature of student needs being addressed
  5. Supply Technical information about the products (Cost, Platform(iOS or Chrome or Windows, or Mad, etc, specs, etc.)
  6. Identify the Potential use in standards-based curriculum
  7. Discuss how features available in the products match or address learning needs
  8. Share Comments about the company website and resources available to learn the tool
  9. Include this tool in a typical lesson plan using the Simmons College Lesson Plan Template , Explore the CAST UDL Exchange Lesson Builder Tool for ideas!
  10. Indicate in the Lesson Plan the level of SAMR as well as considerations for UDL Principles in your lesson planning. Submit your Lesson Plan via Edmodo
  11. Present (5-10mins) to the class – No formal presentation is required just demonstrate software, Share your lesson plan, answer questions, share ideas.
